Austin Seferian-Jenkins Shows Talent with Jaw-Dropping Touchdown (Video)
This offseason, Tampa Bay Buccaneers third-year tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was mentioned in some negative rumors, with much of the talk stemming from his dismissal from a practice session.
Although Cameron Brate has indeed been a bigger factor than Austin Seferian-Jenkins for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense in Week 1, the fact of the matter is that ASJ has more natural talent. Brate’s dependability as a chain-moving tight end has been on display, but ASJ’s basketball background was, too.

Early in the third quarter with the Buccaneers leading 17-13 after Charles Sims’s epic touchdown reception just before the half, Jameis Winston launched a deep pass to Seferian-Jenkins.
The former John Mackey winner at Washington rewarded the former No. 1 overall pick at quarterback by making a marvelous grab over a Falcons defender. He showed off his ability to stretch the field as a TE by beating the entire Atlanta defense before making that tremendous catch.
And oh yeah, Winston’s throw wasn’t exactly bad either, furthering the notion that he is one of the NFL’s most talented passers.
That was Seferian-Jenkins’s first target of the game, and it was good enough for a 30-yard TD that finally gives the Buccaneers some space in his game. Though Julio Jones has been a minor factor in this game, Mohamed Sanu’s big day means that the Falcons offense has shown that they can try to keep up with Tampa Bay.

When Dirk Koetter was hired as the Buccaneers head coach, the expectation was that this offense would be more creative and exciting in 2016. With the way they’ve played today against Dan Quinn’s supposedly improving Falcons defense, it looks like they are on that path. I hope we get to see more targets to Seferian-Jenkins, because, as this TD exhibits, he deserves more opportunities to make game-changing plays.
