Charles Sims Roasts the Atlanta Falcons Defense (Video)
One of the best all-purpose backs in the NFL, Tampa Bay Buccaneers third-year pro Charles Sims had four receiving touchdowns in his breakout 2015 campaign.
In Week 1 of the 2016 NFL season, Charles Sims has added another receiving touchdown to his resume.
On his fourth touch of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers heated rivalry matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, Sims took a pass from Jameis Winston to the house. The play started like a simple pitch-and-catch call, as Sims hauled in the pass with nobody around him at the first down marker.
However, several Falcons defenders were upfield, ready to swallow Sims up. As it happens, though, the Falcons defense still has problems bringing down players in the open field, and they made a mess of their chance to bring Sims down.
Five Falcons defenders had a chance to tackle the former West Virginia standout, and none of them could get him on the ground. Two players, Jonathan Babineaux and Ricardo Allen, had Sims in their grasps, but he wiggled free for six.
Mark that one down as a 23-yard touchdown reception for Sims, who scored with just 14 seconds left in the quarter. That’s a critical touchdown, because it gives the Buccaneers a 17-13 lead heading into halftime against a team of even-strength in arguably the most heated division in the NFL.
Sims has two carries for seven yards and two receptions for 27 yards for the Buccaneers today. With star Doug Martin averaging under three yards per attempt on his seven carries, I wonder if Sims will start to get involved more in the running game in the second half.

Both Martin and Sims are putting on a show in the passing game for the Bucs today, as Martin leads the team with five receptions for 34 yards.
