NFL Week 3 is already upon us, and that means it will be the third week of Monday Night Football on ESPN. Who will be playing this week?

With the quarter mark of the NFL season rapidly approaching already, NFL Week 3 will be a deciding week for some teams. On Monday Night Football, it will be a matchup between two division rivals as the Atlanta Falcons play the New Orleans Saints.

The Falcons and Saints rivalry is one of the best in the NFL and the Superdome will be rocking on Monday night. As stated before, the third week of the NFL season can mean a lot to teams. For the Saints, Monday night will be a must-win.

In the first week of the season at home, the Saints lost a heartbreaker to the Oakland Raiders. A gutsy call by Jack Del Rio to go for the win on a two-point conversion paid off. The great call by the Raiders left the Saints shocked after an entertaining game. In Week 2, the Saints’ offense was nowhere to be found against the New York Giants on the road, and they lost despite not allowing an offensive touchdown to the Giants.

For the Falcons, they will be heading into Monday night with a 1-1 record. After losing at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1, the Falcons faced the Raiders on the road. Unlike the Saints, the Falcons were able to defeat the Raiders in somewhat of an upset victory.

The Falcons have earned themselves the reputation of being a poor road team. However, a win against an up and coming Oakland team is a good sign for the Falcons. Like playing in Oakland, the Superdome is not an easy place to play.

Quarterback Matt Ryan and the Falcons know that all too well, as they lost to the Saints twice last season. While the Saints will be playing to keep their 2016 season from starting out at 0-3, the Falcons will be playing to challenge the Panthers for the division crown.

Due to a great start to the 2015 season, many believe the Falcons were going to be a playoff team last season. After their 5-0 start to the season in 2015, it was the Saints who handed them their first loss of the season.

Furthermore, revenge will surely be on the mind of the Falcons as they attempt to build momentum from their win in Oakland. Finally, this week’s edition of Monday Night Football should be a high-scoring and entertaining game to watch.
