Davante Adams wasn’t about to hang Aaron Rodgers out to dry in Week 3 after the Packers quarterback was put under fire last week

After being outplayed by Sam Bradford in the Green Bay Packers loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Aaron Rodgers isn’t about to let that happen at Matthew Stafford‘s hands. The Detroit Lions are fresh off of a heart-breaking loss to the Tennessee Titans, and the Packers are up 7-0 with the intent of handing Detroit an even more crushing defeat.

Before the game, we heard rumblings of young speedsters Ty Montgomery and Trevor Davis getting more playing time, specifically because of the difficulties the Packers wide receivers have had with gaining separation.

Much of the blame has been placed on the mercurial Davante Adams, who had an awful 2015 and played quite poorly against Minnesota.

Well, after catching a touchdown pass from a miraculous Aaron Rodgers toss in Week 1, Adams found paydirt again in Week 3 to give Green Bay an early lead.

Rodgers and the Packers need the third-year wideout from Fresno State to keep cooking. Adams is a bit of a punching bag for some fans, but there’s no denying the fact that he can put up some nifty touchdown numbers. When he’s on his game, Adams is solid, and he’s become an X-Factor for the Packers, simply because this team is much better off when he shows up to ball.

Adams’s release off the line of scrimmage to beat the press coverage in the slot was nice, and he was wide open since the Lions didn’t have anyone over the middle of the field. That’s an easy six on third down.
