The New York Giants and Washington Redskins, locked in an epic back-and-forth NFC East rivalry battle, saw momentum shift with an Eli Manning interception

Up to the fourth quarter, neither Kirk Cousins nor Eli Manning tossed an interception. Both were efficiently moving the ball with some big-play help from their receivers. Whether it’s been Sterling Shepard, DeSean Jackson, Jamison Crowder, or Odell Beckham Jr., both of these quarterbacks have been able to hook up with their receivers, and both of them could end up with 300 passing yards.

Many people would have expected Josh Norman to be the Washington Redskins cornerback to come up with a big play today, but Quinton Dunbar was the one to intercept the New York Giants today when the game was essentially on the line as the home team was in the red zone.

C.J. Mosley and Patrick Peterson have provided us with amazing interceptions today, and this one from Dunbar is just as good, especially in the context of the game. This has been a great day for quarterbacks at MetLife Stadium. Then Dunbar comes up with a beautiful one-handed interception against tight end Will Tye.

Manning should have never attempted this throw—and hopefully he’s the last quarterback to test the underrated Dunbar. He defends this route out of the slot exceptionally well, using his hands and physicality to make sure Tye cannot put his body in a more favorable position to haul in the slant route.

The Redskins are up 26-24, and if their defense keeps making plays like that, Cousins won’t have to worry too much about vanquishing his lead, even if the running game has been woeful.
