Bears at Cowboys Recap, Highlights, Final Score, More

The Dallas Cowboys left the home crowd at AT&T Stadium in a celebrating mood for the first time in a while, giving their most dominant performance of 2016.

The first half by the Dallas Cowboys was a thing of beauty on Sunday Night Football. The home team led after two quarters, 24-3. In the second half, it was easy to see the Chicago Bears were playing harder, making the score a little closer. But in the end, this game still belonged to the home team. The win was the Cowboys’ first home win since the 2015 season opener, snapping an eight-game AT&T Stadium losing streak.

The Cowboys scored points on their first four possessions, beginning with Dak Prescott scoring the first points of the game with a one-yard run, completing what was a 75-yard drive.

Also in the first quarter, Dan Bailey kicked a 49-yard field goal to put the Cowboys ahead 10-0. The lead then went to 17 points when Lance Dunbar dove into the end zone for a one-yard score in the second quarter.

The Bears came back with a 34-yard field goal of their own in the second quarter by Connor Barth, but that was answered with a three-yard touchdown from Alfred Morris, putting the Cowboys ahead, 24-3. Chicago answered with a two-yard touchdown pass from Brian Hoyer to Zach Miller later in the third. Miller added another touchdown catch in the fourth.

The final touchdown for the Cowboys, before Miller’s second touchdown, was also in the fourth quarter off a touchdown pass from Prescott to Dez Bryant for 17 yards. In the end, the Cowboys built an early lead and hung on for the impressive victory, moving to 2-1 on the year. The Bears, contrarily, move to 0-3.

Dak Prescott, Cowboys — Once again, Prescott played a good, safe, and solid game in his third NFL start. For the third straight week, Prescott didn’t throw an interception, giving him 99 consecutive pass attempts without an interception to start his career. Prescott passed for 248 yards (19-of-24) and rushed for 36 yards. He also threw his first touchdown pass of his career in the fourth quarter and had the aforementioned touchdown run.

Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys — Elliott played a tough game and his improvement is starting to show compared to the first two weeks of the year. For the game, Elliott rushed for 140 yards on 30 carries. Elliott even hurdled over a player in the fourth quarter. The rookie also caught two passes for 20 yards, with the rookie starting to become the player the Cowboys hoped he would when drafted him fourth overall.

Zach Miller, Bears — Miller did a nice job of being what seemed like a safety net of sorts for Brian Hoyer. Miller finished the game with two touchdowns. His touchdowns came in the latter stages of the third quarter on a two-yard reception and in the fourth quarter in a six-yard reception. Miller finished with 76 yards on eight receptions.

The next game for the Cowboys will be away from Texas, with the team traveling to the West Coast to face the San Francisco 49ers. The Bears are scheduled to host the Detroit Lions.
