Ben Roethlisberger injured his knee and was taken to the locker room after limping off of the field for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ben Roethlisberger is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, without question. The signal caller for the Pittsburgh Steelers can do it all. He can make all of the throws, stay upright to create plays and make time, and then pull through in the clutch. However, the Steelers might be in a bad situation depending on what happens from a developing situation in Week 6.
Playing against the Miami Dolphins on the road, Roethlisberger made a throw and seemed to take a small hit to the knee. He looked uncomfortable after it, but still tried to make a play after throwing an interception. However, that seemed to only worsen whatever was wrong.
Big Ben was then seen limping off of the field and on the sideline. He was ultimately taken to the locker room with a knee injury:
Backup Landry Jones was in for the next series with Roethlisberger out.
Despite his prowess, Roethlisberger’s propensity to not shy away from contact has left him injured on several occasions throughout his career. With how minor the hit was that left him ailing, though, you have to be worried about this one—especially if a player as tough as him had to go to the locker room.
This situation is obviously in flux right now as we don’t know the quarterback’s status. As more information is available, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
