The Dallas Cowboys went into Lambeau Field and left with their fifth victory of the season by defeating the Green Bay Packers.

16. 49. 30. 123. Final

The Dallas Cowboys had questions about how they would handle their biggest road test yet, heading to Lambeau Field in Week 6 to face the Green Bay Packers. The rookie-led version of America’s Team answered those questions in resounding fashion, though.

Aaron Rodgers still was off with his passes for the Packers, and the Cowboys pass rush took full advantage of the miscues they helped cause to earn the 14-point win.Β Rodgers was 31-of-42 for 294 yards with one touchdown and one interception, but still, those numbers could have been much better if he was more on target.

In addition toΒ the Cowboys defensive line, the play of David Irving was outstanding with three forced fumbles. For the second straight week, the defense of the Cowboys held their opponent without a touchdown until the fourth quarter.

Besides the play of Elliott and Prescott, the offensive line of the Cowboys needs to be given part of the spotlight, too. Remember, this game was billed as the No. 1 rushing offense vs. the No. 1 run stopping defense.Β The Cowboys won that battle in a major way

The first half of the Cowboys included two of their three touchdowns and one field goal. The scores came from Cole Beasley on a one-yard catch and Brice Butler on a 20-yard catch in the second quarter. The field goal was 44 yards by Dan Bailey.

With the Cowboys having a lead of 17-6 at halftime, they added another field goal in the third, and in the fourth, Beasley caught his second touchdown pass of the game (four yards), along with one final field goal by Bailey.

Green Bay in the fourth kicked another field goal by Mason Crosby and had a six-yard reception by Randall Cobb for their lone touchdown.

Three Stars

Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys β€” He became the first rookie running back to rush for four straight games of at least 130 yards. Elliott also had his first game of 150 yards rushing, finishing with 28 attempts for 157 (5.6 yards per carry).

Dak Prescott, Cowboys β€” The rookie quarterback increased the NFL record for most pass attempts without throwing an interception to 177 attempts, passing the former record of 162 attempts held by Tom Brady. Prescott finished Sunday 18-of-27 for 247 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.

Ty Montgomery, Packers β€” The second-year wide receiver led the Packers with 10 receptions for 98 yards. He kept drives alive for Green Bay all game and was their top player on Sunday.
