Golden Tate came up with a huge touchdown for Detroit and celebrated the score with the Lions cheerleaders

The Detroit Lions found themselves trailing the Los Angeles Rams at home in Week 6, much to their dismay. Rather than roll over, though, the home team kept fighting. A big part of that effort was Golden Tate finally coming ready to play and Matthew Stafford rewarding him for his efforts.

Trailing by a touchdown with only six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Lions needed something big to not only close the gap, but to swing momentum heavily in their favor. Lucky for them, Tate was feeling up to it.

Just outside of the red zone, Stafford found Tate on a short route right on the left hashmark. The electric receiver then made a ton of Rams defenders miss in the middle of the field. He then outran another swarm of would-be tacklers. Tate then got the edge and motored into the end zone to get the six points:

As great of a play as that is by Tate, it’s secondary to the celebration he had in store. After getting on the board, he went over to the Lions cheerleaders and proceeded to join them in their cheer:

Terrell Owens approves.

Golden Tate has been struggling to find a rhythm for most of this season. Subsequently, he has every right to be this hyped up about such an important touchdown. Now if only he can find the end zone more consistently, we’ll get more celebrations like this.
