NFL Week 8 is nearly here, and for some teams that means the halfway point of the season. Who will be playing on Monday Night Football in Week 8?

With NFL Week 8 approaching, this week’s edition of Monday Night Football will feature an NFC North showdown. While the opposite way the season has gone for these teams would indicate that it should be an easy game for the Minnesota Vikings, anything can happen in a division game.

Prior to their loss last week to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Vikings were the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL. An ugly game in Philadelphia resulted in the first loss for the Vikings.

Turnovers were the main reason for the Vikings struggling, as they lost three fumbles as a team, and Sam Bradford threw one interception. While the Vikings are one of the best teams in the NFC, they are not a high-powered offense that can make up for so many turnovers.

For the Bears, the 2016 season has been a very difficult one. They will be coming into Monday Night Football with a 1-6 record, and not a lot of positives to hold on to. Brian Hoyer was playing very well for them in recent weeks, but he suffered a broken arm in their recent loss to the Green Bay Packers.

With Hoyer being out, it will once again be Jay Cutler under center for the Bears. In two games this season, Cutler has totaled 373 passing yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. The matchup against the Vikings’ defense is not an ideal one for Cutler to return against.

The Vikings will have a very good opportunity to get back on the right track following the disappointing showing last week. For the Bears, the best that they can hope for is to play spoiler against their division rival.
