2. Dak Prescott Still Learning On the Go

Yes, the rookie quarterback of the Cowboys didn’t have his best game. But the plus in all of that was he stayed calm and helped lead the team to victory in overtime against an NFC East rival. In the process, he showed the poise of a seasoned veteran on the final drive of the game.

Against the Eagles, Prescott was 19-of-39 for 287 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He also carried the ball seven times for 38 yards and another touchdown. Those stats aren’t what the Cowboys want to see every week, but something was gained from this game for the fourth-round pick. He faced adversity with a red zone interception and a killer pass rush by the Eagles. Yet he still led the Cowboys to a win on the final drive in overtime.

Prescott, or any quarterback for that matter, will not be perfect each and every week (though Tom Brady is close). However, he deserves credit for he fought through a lot of obstacles in front of a primetime audience and got the job done eventually in overtime.

The rookie quarterback has proven he deserves to be the starter for the rest of the season. Dallas is 6-1 with a few tough wins under the belt of the rookie. He’s picking things up and learning as he goes, but also while being under a strong microscope. All in all, Prescott has done very well and he’ll only continue to improve as each game takes place.
