1. Overall Team Play is a Positive

The Cowboys seem like they are having a lot of fun this season. Winning will do that for a franchise, but they seem to have that extra swagger and their play on the field shows that with how they seem to actually like being a team this season.

Last year was terrible and nobody on the team seemed like they wanted to be around down the stretch. But the energy the Cowboys have this season is second to none right now. They are playing loose, but with a purpose. The Cowboys seems to have all cylinders firing for the most part, though defensive injuries and special teams play could hamper that. Even with the potential of a slight regression on defense, the Cowboys demeanor is excellent to watch this season.

They are playing with poise, the offensive line is close to unstoppable, and the two rookie stars on offense are really bringing the energy through seven games. The game against the Eagles wasn’t textbook, but the young guys and the offensive line continued to do what they do each week when it mattered. Credit the defense for not allowing the Eagles to get in field goal position late in the fourth quarter, as well.

The sack by Orlando Scandrick on third-and-11 with 53 seconds left in regulation might have been the best play of the night for the defense of the Cowboys. Plays like that wouldn’t have happened last season. And with the team seemingly being back to being competitive once again, the overall chemistry is a big reason why the season is where it is through the first eight weeks.
