Mike Evans Makes One-Hand Grab, Keanu Neal Drills Him (Video)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans pulled down a crazy one-hand catch only to have Atlanta Falcons safety Keanu Neal immediately light him up
Mike Evans must’ve come into Raymond James Stadium for Thursday Night Football ready to make plays. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver made his presence known to the Atlanta Falcons early, including a physical, athletic touchdown catch over Robert Alford in the first half. However, he pulled down one of the most insane catches you’ll see in NFL Week 9—which Falcons rookie Keanu Neal was apparently not a fan of.
In the third quarter with the Buccaneers trailing big and trying to get a drive going to start a comeback, Jameis Winston found Evans on the sideline. He fired a rocket in his direction, but got just a tad too much air under it. However, the uber-athletic and enormous wideout in Evans skied to get it with one hand and did and brought it down with ease, somehow.
As soon as he got both feet down on the ground, though, Neal was coming at him. Atlanta’s rookie safety then lined up the receiver and absolutely laid the hit-stick on him to force him down out of bounds:
You have to tip your hat to both Evans and Neal on that play. Not only is that a monstrous, superstar-level catch, but that hit was thunderous to say the least.
Unfortunately, that was about as far as that drive went for Evans and the Bucs, giving the Falcons the ball back and allowing them to only pull further ahead.
