Remember the Marqise Lee hype train before the start of the season? Well, the Jacksonville Jaguars former second-round pick is making good on all of that.

Even when Marqise Lee failed to produce in his first two seasons in the league, he still managed to make circus catches for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Last year, Lee had just 15 receptions and was one of the least effective wide receivers in the NFL, but he did manage to make this crazy juggling catch.

In today’s game against the Detroit Lions, Lee was at it again. His huge reception on the sideline outdid that bobbled reception from the 2015 season. And it has to be up there with the best receptions we’ve seen in the 2016 season so far.

Blake Bortles let it fly, Lee beat the coverage, and Lee somehow kept his balance and came down with both feet easily in bounds. That is not an easy catch to make and it was impressive to watch his body control. Lee is a graceful player, and it seems like his hands have improved in his third season in the league.

Lee had four receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown against the Lions, besting Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns in that department. In fact, Lee came into today’s game against the Lions leading the Jaguars with a 69.1 percent catch rate and coming second in both receptions and receiving yards. It has been a breakout season for Lee and he’s been even more efficient than Robinson and Hurns.

His role in the Jaguars offense is easier, but Lee keeps becoming a bigger part of this team. Bortles is trusting the former USC playmaker more, and he’s now operating on three straight games with at least 50 receiving yards.
