New York Giants rookie wide receiver Sterling Shepard has bounced back from a mini-slump, and he’s been a consistent performer for this offense recently.

Coming out of Oklahoma, New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard looked like a sure thing. After he caught a touchdown in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, roasted the New Orleans Saints with 117 receiving yards in Week 2, and put up a 5/73/1 line in Week 3 against the Washington Redskins, his status as a sure-fire starting receiver was set.

Shepard is playing great football in November after a brief slump, as he has now scored a touchdown in each of his past three games. Hist third-quarter grab in Week 11 was both clutch and a thing of beauty:

His latest touchdown came in a tight matchup against the Chicago Bears to give the Giants a 22-16 lead. Shepard was wide-open over the middle of the field thanks to a well-designed play that confused the players at the heart of the Bears defense. They did not know who to pick-up in coverage and they unwisely let Shepard find the hole in the seam for an easy red zone score on third-and-6. Talk about a clutch play after the Giants trailed early.

Meanwhile, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was mostly relied on Zach Miller and Cameron Meredith with Alshon Jeffery suspended for PED usage. So you can see that Eli had a much better array of weapons at his disposal to pick up touchdowns like this one.
