Baltimore Ravens veteran wideout Steve Smith Sr. is always entertaining, especially when advising Jason Garrett not to challenge his wild grab.

Entering Week 11, Baltimore Ravens receiver Steve Smith Sr. was just a few catches away from 1,000 for his career. He’s had a marvelous career where he’s continuously proven people wrong. Along the way, he’s also never been too quiet about much of anything. So when he made a great play against the Dallas Cowboys for Catch No. 999, he had a little fun in store for everyone.

First of all, Smith made an absolutely insane catch on the play. With Joe Flacco trying for a Ravens first down, he threw to the veteran on the sidelines. However, the throw was a bit high and wide for Smith to make an easy catch.

That didn’t matter for the receiver, though. Despite not being a big receiver by any stretch, the Ravens wideout stretched up and out to make the grab. Inexplicably, he then somehow managed to tap both toes in bounds before falling on the sideline:

Watching that in real-time, there’s definite reason to believe that he might not have been in. In fact, that’s what Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett thought as he reached for the challenge flag. The always-vocal Smith, though, knew that he’d made the ridiculous catch. So he simply tried to help the Dallas coach out, advising him not to challenge:

This is everything that you could ever want from Steve Smith Sr. He’s always been jawing at opposing teams, but telling an opposing coach not to challenge his great play is peak form for even him.

At the time, Smith had reason to be jawing and feeling himself a bit too. The Ravens struck first against the 8-1 Cowboys. However, the Cowboys answered soon after in the second quarter to make a game of it in the first half.
