Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee embraced his inner golfer and then pro wrestler in celebrating pinning the New York Jets deep.

For all of the inconsistency that the Indianapolis Colts have shown this season, they at least have one constant on their roster. Specifically, they can always count on their special teams and punter Pat McAfee. In addition to being one of the best NFL follows on Twitter, McAfee is also one of the league’s best at his job. And on Monday Night Football in Week 13, he went to work in the first half.

After the Colts opened up an early 14-0 lead on the New York Jets, but penalties and a big Leonard Williams sack thwarted their efforts at getting a third score. That brought McAfee out to try and give the Jets a long field. Despite getting a bad snap, the Colts special teams star handled it and kicked a beauty. Off a friendly bounce deep, McAfee pinned the Jets inside the 5-yard line.

Following the supreme effort on his punt, McAfee was deservedly pumped up. So naturally, he decided to celebrate what he’d done. Ever the comedian and entertainer, he started off his celebration with a parade/golf/royalty wave before giving pro wrestling a nod with an NWO-era Scott Hall taunt:

You have to love it when a punter gets this hype over his work. Special teamers can have fun too!

McAfee’s celebration comes one day after Oakland Raiders punter Marquette King, who also enjoys an emphatic celebration, was flagged for taunting after he picked up a previously thrown penalty flag and danced with it.

I like to think that I don’t ask for much, but if the NFL could somehow work out a punter dance-off/celebration battle between McAfee and King, the world would be a better place.
