The Pittsburgh Steelers kept their promise to renegotiate wide receiver Antonio Brown’s contract. And both sides seem to be quite pleased with the results.
The numbers are pretty impressive. And to start with, we are talking the financial kind. That’s because Pittsburgh Steelers’ playmaker Antonio Brown just became the highest-paid player at his position in the NFL.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’s a four-year extension worth a whopping $68 million. He also reports that Brown will make $18.5 million in each of the first three seasons of the new deal and then $12.5 million in the final year of the deal.
Over the past four seasons, the 2010 sixth-round pick from Central Michigan has totaled an amazing 481 receptions for 6,315 yards and 43 scores in 63 regular-season contests. The five-time Pro Bowler (earning one nod in 2011 as a return artist) has racked up 100-plus catches in each of the past four seasons.
He led the NFL in catches in 2014 and tied for the league lead in grabs (with Atlanta’s Julio Jones) in 2015. Brown has also totaled 1,200 or more receiving yards each season since 2013. And he’s also been named All-Pro each of the past three years.
In seven NFL seasons, Brown has rolled up 632 catches for 8,377 yards and 50 touchdowns. He’s also had success on special teams, taking back four punts and one kickoff for scores. He also comes off a three-game postseason run in which he totaled 18 receptions for 309 yards and two scores – both touchdowns coming in the Steelers’ 30-12 win over the Miami Dolphins in the Wild Card Round.
