Green Bay Packers: When does 2017 training camp start?
The Green Bay Packers are always contenders with their prolific offense, and hope to be this season. But when does their 2017 training camp get going?
Right up until the NFC Championship Game, the Green Bay Packers looked like contenders. That’s when they ran into the Atlanta Falcons. And in that matchup, their defense never stood a chance. Now as the Packers head into 2017 training camp, they’ve added help on that side of the ball. In doing so, they hope they’ve further solidified their spots as contenders.
Predictably, the Packers were quiet in free agency, with their biggest moves being the signing of tight end Martellus Bennett and re-signing edge rusher Nick Perry. However, they also saw the likes of Julius Peppers, Eddie Lacy, Jared Cook and perhaps most importantly, T.J. Lang. With that said, the Packers are still dangerous thanks to savvy drafting.
After trading out of the first round and down to the first pick in Round 2, they nabbed a highly touted cornerback in Kevin King. Later in that round, they also added safety help in Josh Jones. With their secondary being a huge issue last year, both of these additions should be hugely beneficial to the defense.
Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers and the offense got love too. Obviously Bennett will help the offense, but they also added tremendous depth at running back in the draft. Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones figure to be factors in the rushing attack along with Ty Montgomery. The big question, though, is how heavily the loss of Lang will hit them.
All of this movement (and the fact that they’re who they are) makes Green Bay an intriguing team heading into the year. So then, when does the Green Bay Packers 2017 training camp get underway?

Green Bay will begin training camp practices on Thursday, July 27 in the morning. That’s where they’ll begin their attempt to make Titletown live up to its name even more. With the new additions, that’s entirely possible for them.
