After a playoff berth last season, the Miami Dolphins aim to build from there and get better this season, but when do they start their 2017 training camp?
At the beginning of the 2016 season, many would’ve pegged you as insane if you’d said the Miami Dolphins would be playoff-bound. They started abysmally and seemed to be heading down a bad road. That’s when Jay Ajayi burst onto the scene and changed it all. Amassing three 200-yard game son the season, Ajayi’s emergence and the team rallying around it helped the Dolphins go on a run and earn a Wild Card berth in the postseason.
Unfortunately for Miami, it was a one-off in the playoffs as they were ousted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, they now have a foundation heading into the 2017 season that they have to be excited about.
Ajayi looks to continue proving he’s a star in this league, taking the opportunity he was given and seizing it time and again. Meanwhile, it looks as if quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be healthy to start the year, and he showed real progress under Adam Gase. The offense’s biggest question, though, lies on the offensive line. With movement and a lack of depth, they need to stay healthy up front.
On the defensive side of things, the Dolphins seemingly made moves to improve. Rookie Raekwon McMillan and free-agent signing Lawrence Timmons should address their issues at linebacker. What’s more, getting T.J. McDonald back at safety after he serves an eight-game suspension will be welcomed. Meanwhile, rookie Charles Harris joins Cameron Wake in helping to build a formidable pass rush.
The Dolphins are far from perfect, but remain an intriguing overall team heading into the new season. With that, fans have to be asking when the Miami Dolphins 2017 training camp begins.

Miami will begin training camp on Thursday, July 27 as they hope to work towards back-to-back playoff appearances. They have the talent to be competitive, but Gase needs to put it together for them to be more.
