Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston embracing ‘Hard Knocks’ spotlight
Jameis Winston is reportedly relishing the ‘Hard Knocks’ spotlight as the 2017 edition peels back the curtain on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
We are a little more than a month away from HBO’s Hard Knocks, which for Tampa Bay Buccaneers and football fans alike is great news. As first reported by JoeBucsFan.com, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com noted that Jameis Winston has allowed the Hard Knocks camera crew into his home, showing off his workput routine, saying:
"Via JoeBucsFan.com, Winston has invited the Hard Knocks cameras to his private, 6:00 a.m. pre-training camp workouts. The move confirms that Winston plans to try to parlay the nationwide platform into superstar status."
As Florio also notes, linebacker Kwon Alexander will also be a major part of the show. Alexander is arguably one of Tampa Bay’s most cataclysmic and explosive playmakers, so he should be able to provide a fun storyline for viewers. He is coming off a tremendous season last year in which he was the Buccaneers leading defender.
It will be interesting to see Winston’s work ethic throughout the course of the show, and how he interacts with head coach Dirk Koetter, who does not want anything to do with Hard Knocks.
My guess is that we will see Winston take on more of a leadership role. He has had two years in the Tampa Bay system and with a bunch of new faces on offense, he is one of the more experienced players on the offensive side of the ball. Now, he has to put all those pieces together in order to find success.
