2. Jason Verrett

The Los Angeles Chargers sorely missed Jason Verrett last season, as he missed most of the year due to a partially torn ACL. That was a total bummer for a football team that was already dealing with guys getting hurt left and right. However, I expect Verrett to return to form in 2017.

The good news for Verrett in regards to making the Pro Bowl is that he may be one of the best cornerbacks in the entire AFC. Just look as the conference’s corners that were on last year’s Pro Bowl roster:

  • Stephon Gilmore, Buffalo Bills
  • Aqib Talib, Denver Broncos
  • Casey Hayward, Los Angeles Chargers
  • Chris Harris, Broncos

You may have a different opinion, but when Verrett is healthy, there’s no argument as to who the best cornerback is between him and those four players. Chris Harris comes in as a close second and probably Aqib Talib after him.

That being said, if Verrett ends the season leading the Chargers in interceptions, he will most definitely be heading to the East Coast for the Pro Bowl.
