Answering the question of when the Tennessee Titans will start 2017 training camp as Marcus Mariota and company look to make the leap this year.
Many people are expecting the Tennessee Titans to make a big jump this season. Marcus Mariota and an improved offense were on the cusp of doing so last season. However, a late-season broken fibula for the quarterback dashed those hopes in dreams. Now that the signal-caller is healthy, the Titans begin 2017 training camp with huge hopes.
There’s no question that general manager Jon Robinson worked to get Mariota more weapons this offseason. Drafting Corey Davis with the fifth-overall pick was a clear indication of that. What’s more, the Titans added more pass-catcher with the likes of Taywan Taylor and Jonnu Smith in the draft and then Eric Decker after his release from the Jets.
Given those pass-catchers, the Tennessee offense could be special. Mariota has great guys to throw to, but also a running game to set it up and a massive group up front to keep defenders at bay. Taylor Lewan and the offensive line are one of the best units in the league. Meanwhile, DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry figure to be big factors.
What the Titans hope is that their defense can take big strides forward. They signed cornerback Logan Ryan in free agency. What’s more, they used a second first-round pick to take corner Adoree’ Jackson out of USC. All in all, Tennessee has made strides, so it’s not hard to see why teams are high on their chances in 2017.
Because there’s so much hype, everyone is ready for this team to get started. So then, when does the Tennessee Titans 2017 training camp start?
