1. Titans finish top four in the AFC

No, I’m not talking about playoff seeding. The Titans will finish 2017 with a top four win-loss record in the conference, with an AFC South title in hand.

The AFC has gotten much stronger along with the Titans this season. The AFC West is full of playoff contenders, the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots aren’t going anywhere and the Miami Dolphins have the roster to get back to the playoffs for a second-straight season. It will take a double-digit number of wins for the Titans to finish as one of the AFC’s best. With a roster full of talent at every position and a schedule that isn’t too scary, I like the Titans’ chances.

A big key for this type of run from the Titans will be how they start the season. Tennessee opens with the Super Bowl hopeful Oakland Raiders at home, who will be the slight favorite. Week 2 presents a road trip to face the Jacksonville Jaguars, whom Titans fans unfortunately know not to overlook. The Seattle Seahawks come into Nashville Week 3, which is followed by a road trip to Houston.

The first quarter of the season will be the Titans’ biggest challenge on the schedule. The Titans must be ready to put the pedal to the metal starting Week 1. If they can conquer the first few weeks of 2017, they will finish as one of the AFC’s best.
