The Washington Redskins are starting training camp, so here is everything you need to know if you’re planning to attend at some point.
Visiting Washington Redskins training camp at Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center is a great experience. There’s nothing like seeing some of the NFL’s best on the field honing their skills. However, it’s important to remember we are in the middle of Summer.
As is often the case in Richmond, VA this time of year, the weather is fickle and sometimes unpleasant. Highs will reach the low 90s in the middle of the day and likely won’t get lower than the high 60s at night. What’s more, you can expect rain in some capacity at any point of most days, most likely in the form of thunderstorms.
Besides prepping for the weather also bring a chair. Redskins training camp becomes standing room only after a few hours. It’s recommended you bring a chair or seat cushion to give your feet a break. Even if you can’t get close to see the action, don’t worry, everything can be seen from a distance. There’s nothing wrong with getting comfortable.
Because it’s somewhat of a closed in area, it’s going to heat up quick, so bring a small towel to wipe your face.
Parking is usually $10, and according to the website it appears to be the same again this year. Fans should expect to walk a few blocks to get to camp, so make sure to stay hydrated. I wouldn’t take my chances with parking in the neighborhoods or in business parking lots. Also, make sure you have your ticket in hand ready to show if requested.
