The Green Bay Packers can always rely on Aaron Rodgers, but what do the three guys backing him up currently have to offer the team now and moving forward?

Aaron Rodgers is the Green Bay Packers starting quarterback. There aren’t many more obvious statements heading into any team camp this year. The Packers have three other quarterbacks on their roster though.

Taysom Hill is probably quarterback No. 4. The rookie out of BYU has a few things going against him. The biggest one being he’s already 26 years old, making him the oldest backup on the team.

That’s not old, and it’s also never a bad thing to have some age at quarterback. When you’ve also got the least experience, though, it becomes a problem. He probably won’t make it into the regular season.

More from Green Bay Packers

Joe Callahan is No. 3 on the quarterback depth chart. Callahan’s actually pretty interesting. The 24-year-old spent time in three different NFL organizations during his rookie year. He was originally signed by the Packers last season. He spent time with the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns though, before returning to Green Bay.

Callahan had a decorated career at Wesley College. He shows strong accuracy, and that’s a great trait to see in a quarterback. Callahan should make the roster, but he might not see the field.

Finally, there’s quarterback No. 2, Brett Hundley. It’s kind of surprising he’s still on the roster, honestly. Hundley seems like a strong quarterback prospect, and someone that the Packers could sell high on. Teams love young, mobile quarterbacks with good arms. Hundley checks all three boxes.

Hundley will be the primary backup, but I still think he could be traded at some point.

In the end, Rodgers still has a lot of football in him. Despite some intriguing young arms, it’s hard to see any of these quarterbacks staying on the roster long enough to be the successor to Rodgers. Their futures just aren’t in Green Bay.
