The Detroit Lions face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Aug. 13 in the NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Welcome to the Detroit Lions start of the 2017 NFL preseason. Although a few teams have had their first pre-season game, the Lions take the field on Sunday, Aug. 13 as they take on the Indianapolis Colts.

Although many fans like to talk down to preseason, it’s a great time to see what the future holds for the Lions. We probably won’t see Matthew Stafford in Week 1, but it would be nice to see what Jake Rudock, or 2017 draft pick Brad Kaaya have to offer. Depth at quarterback is critical, and it’ll be interesting to see if Kaaya can supplant Rudock as the No. 2.

Starters should not see much of the field in the preseason, but it would be a pleasure to see rookie linebacker Jarrad Davis. It would be great to see his progression with the team, but preseason is a teaser and it may not happen. It’ll also be a great time to size up their 53-man roster.

This should be a good matchup for the two teams. They recently took training camp on the road and conducted a joint two-day camp with the Indianapolis Colts. The Lions took control of practice on Day 1. As for Day 2, the Lions weren’t as dominate, but they seemed to improve in some areas.

It will be interesting to see the two square off on the field after that joint practice session. Both teams are looking to improve, though the Lions are coming off of the playoff berth and would love to build off of that.

This game will be broadcast on NFL Network. That leaves numerous options to stream online. NFL.com should have a stream, but you can also watch on NFL Game Pass and FuboTV. The latter two require a paid subscription to access them.
