The Kansas City Chiefs face the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday, Aug. 19 in the NFL Preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
There’s a lot that still needs to be learned about the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals heading into their NFL Preseason Week 2 matchup. Both teams are still sorting out the starting jobs at key positions. Even more interesting is that both the Chiefs and Bengals seem to be somewhat unaware of how much of a battle they actually have going on.
For Kansas City, you need not look further than under center. In the 2017 NFL Draft, they traded up to No. 10 overall to take Patrick Mahomes out of Texas Tech. It was clear then that they wanted to replace Alex Smith with the youngster in the future. However, if Smith is uninspiring now or early in the season for the Chiefs, Mahomes could get the call sooner than expected.
As for the Bengals, this is a team that drafted two big weapons and John Ross and Joe Mixon. However, it’s the running back Mixon that’s interesting. Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard haven’t been great in recent years. As such, they could lose their job if the Oklahoma product is worth all the hype. Thus, it’ll be interesting to see how Mixon performs in this one.
