The New England Patriots take on the Houston Texans on Saturday, Aug. 19 in the 2017 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

It’s probably safe to assume most New England Patriots starters won’t be on the field on Saturday when the team takes the field against the Houston Texans. The defending champions know what they have in star players like quarterback Tom Brady, tight end Rob Gronkowski and receiver Julian Edelman. Heck, they even know what they have in their backups — as do the Texans.

The two teams met on Thursday Night Football last season and third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett led the Pats to a win. He was under center because Brady was suspended and his backup, Jimmy Garoppolo was out with a shoulder injury. New England still had Houston’s number though, but it makes sense considering Houston has become a place for former Patriots.

Houston head coach Bill O’Brien spent several years under head coach Bill Belichick in New England. They also have former Patriots player Mike Vrabel as defensive coordinator and tried to start a couple former backups to Brady in Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett in recent years and served as an old-folks home for former nose tackle Vince Wilfork ‚— who retired after this year.

Now Houston hopes to have their quarterback spot filled with either Tom Savage or rookie DeShaun Watson. Neither have New England ties, so maybe they can finally beat them?
