The Dallas Cowboys played their third preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts. Here are three things we learned about them during the game.

The Dallas Cowboys played a home game in Week 2 of the 2017 NFL Preseason as they hosted the Indianapolis Colts. It was their third game this preseason since they also played in the Hall of Fame Game, and Dallas finally saw what the offense may look like in 2017.

For the first time quarterback Dak Prescott was on the field and he looked to be in mid season form. He also nearly had his full compliment of weapons as left tackle Tyron Smith and running back Ezekiel Elliott were the only starters to sit this one out.

Seeing the bug guns on the field was exciting, and here are some takeaways from their win against Indianapolis on Saturday night.

4. There’s another Smith on this roster

While linebacker Jaylon Smith and his recovery has been center stage, he isn’t the only member of the Smith family on the roster. Rod Smith has been a halfback, fullback and is once again a halfback for the Boys this season, and Jaylon’s big brother is making a case for more playing time.

Smith is listed at 6-3 and 231 pounds, which makes him a rather large running back. That doesn’t mean he isn’t athletic as the 25-year old has worked as a return man and has shown talent both as a runner and receiver out of the backfield.

Smith is quick and powerful and finished the night with 53 yards rushing on just seven carries and added 27 yards through the air on three receptions. It would be exciting to see him run behind the first team line before the regular season starts.
