A look at three things were learned as the Houston Texans took on the New England Patriots in Week 2 of the 2017 NFL Preseason

The Houston Texans and New England Patriots squared off at NRG Stadium in Houston, and the Texans finally got a win over the defending NFL Champions. Of course, that doesn’t matter much at all considering that it’s just a practice game here in the 2017 NFL preseason.

Houston did get to see three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year defensive end J.J. Watt start to make some noise again. After missing most of 2016 with a back injury, Watt has played sparingly in the post season. On Saturday he made just one tackle, but it went for a loss as he pushed through the line to stuff the run.

While we all already knew Watt was a beast, there were other things in the game to learn. Here are three takeaways from the Texans victory over New England.

3. D’Onta Foreman can move

He was measured in at 6-0 and 233 pounds in the scouting combine. Don’t let that fool you into thinking that rookie running back D’Onta Foreman can’t run. The big guy proved as much on Saturday.

The third-round pick from Texas took a strike from rookie quarterback DeShaun Watson on a slant pass and started breaking tackles. He took off for 63 yards on the play and was forced out of bounds inside the five.

While he finished with just 17 yards on seven rushes, his two receptions for 66 yards were something to be excited about. He needs to keep rounding out his game, but it was fun to see the big man rumble on that long play.
