The Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals are set to square off Saturday evening, take a look at the injury report for Preseason Week 3
This may indeed be the most exciting week of preseason football yet, as most team’s starters will play through half-time. While the Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals have high hopes for this weekend, neither team will be willing to risk injury to one of their better players.
The good news is that we will be able to see most of the team’s first-unit players on the field this Saturday night in Atlanta. The third week of the preseason had traditional been the “dress-rehearsal” for Week 1, so we’ll definitely get to see a good dose of Matt Ryan and Carson Palmer this weekend.
Other than the two veteran quarterbacks, there are some regular starters that could sit-out this game for injury reasons or for prevention.

Take a look at the Falcons’ injury report, courtesy of Kelsey Conway from the Falcons’ official website:
"One player that won’t be on the field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday night when the Falcons take on the Arizona Cardinals is defensive back Damontae Kazee. The rookie suffered a sprained ankle in the Falcons’ 17-13 preseason loss at Pittsburgh. While the team will be without Kazee, Falcons coach Dan Quinn said the team is hopeful to get linebacker Jermaine Grace and receiver Josh Magee back this week. Both Grace and Magee did not play against the Steelers.Quinn also said Devonta Freeman is nearing the end of the league’s concussion protocol and he hopes to have him back soon."
Another point of note, Conway mentioned that there still hasn’t been a decision made about Julio Jones’ status for Saturday night.
If we’re being completely honest here, Atlanta shouldn’t even be considering having Jones suit up this weekend against Arizona. He’s already dealt with multiple foot injuries in his career with the Falcons, why have him risk injury in a game that doesn’t matter whatsoever?
Not to mention, we all saw what happened to New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. last weekend and it was just announced that he might miss the first week of the regular season. If there’s one example as to why Jones shouldn’t play on Saturday — there it is.
