Notes

More from Fantasy Football

  • Vikings running back Dalvin Cook continues to move up the rankings. 10 days ago he was 53 overall. Today, he sits at 35 overall.
  • Rams running back Todd Gurley is another player I’m coming around on. He moved up six spots and is now my 26th overall player.
  • Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson tumbles down the rankings. 10 days ago, he was 36th overall and now he’s at 52. It’s not a shot at Robinson who is a good-to-great wide receiver. It’s because I have almost no faith in the Jaguars quarterbacks getting him the ball. Expect a run-heavy offense from the Jags this season.
  • Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota moves up 12 spots. As expected, he looks good this preseason and with all the new weapons acquired this offseason, he’s got top-five quarterback potential.
  • Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker moves up 23 spots. Quarterback Jay Cutler changes the passing dynamic in Miami as he has a history of targeting his big receivers early and often.

Players New to the List

  • Titans wide receiver Eric Decker (96th): I’m not as high on the Titans pass-catchers this season because they have so many capable of making plays. Mariota is too smart to force it to any one guy on a consistent basis. Instead, he’ll throw it to anyone who is open. With that said, Decker has a nose for the end zone and could lead the Titans in touchdown receptions.
  • Saints wide receiver Ted Ginn (98th): Ginn will be asked to stretch the field in the Saints offense. With Drew Brees throwing him the ball, he has “boom” potential every week.
  • Bills wide receiver Zay Jones (100th): Sammy Watkins was traded. Anquan Boldin retired. The Bills newly acquired wide receiver Jordan Matthews is out with an injury. Jones has the potential of leading the Bills in targets in 2017.

Players Off the List

  • Seahawks running back Eddie Lacy: He got the start in Week 2 with Thomas Rawls dealing with an injury. He simply did not look good and there’s reason to believe his best days are behind him.
  • Giants running back Paul Perkins: The Giants run game is shaping up as a disaster once again. Perkins will lose passing-down snaps to Shane Vereen and Orleans Darkwa will steal some carries. Perkins doesn’t have a lot of upside in his situation.
  • Eagles running back LeGarrette Blount: He’s been one of the least impressive players this preseason and that’s not good in a crowded backfield. I’m not totally convinced he finishes 2017 on the Eagles roster.
