2. Derek Carr Looks Awesome

Despite losing the game fans have a lot to feel good about after Saturday’s game. Mainly, Derek Carr looks unbelievable for the second game this preseason. Coming off of a broken fibula that ended his 2016 season earlier, there was a concern if Carr would not only be healthy this year, but also if he would be able to return to his elite status. Carr quelled those worries for the second week in a row.

More from Las Vegas Raiders

In Week 2 of the preseason, Carr went 7-of-9 for 100 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw an interception that game. It is was still a strong showing for Carr, or seemed strong until this week. Against the Cowboys on Saturday night, Carr lit up the Dallas secondary. Throwing 13-of-17 for 144 yards, Carr looked to be in mid-season form against the Cowboys.

Carr threw for two touchdowns in the game, including a 48-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper and a 17-yard touchdown pass that put a perfect cap on a 81-yard drive in the second quarter. Not only does Carr look like he can lead the Raiders to their second consecutive playoff appearance, but he is likely going to be a strong contender for the NFL MVP Award by season’s end.
