We are one week closer to the NFL regular season and fantasy football. Which players improved their stock in Week 3 and which players didn’t?

Week 3 of the NFL preseason is more or less a dress rehearsal game for most of the teams in the NFL and the starters see more playing time together than any of the other preseason games. Fans and fantasy football owners were able to get a glimpse of what some of the players and offenses have to offer in 2017.

What players have their fantasy football stock trending up after Week 3 and which players have their arrows pointing south?

Stock Up

Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs – With Spencer Ware set to miss the season with a knee injury, Hunt will now be a workhorse in the Chiefs backfield.

Alshon Jeffery, WR, Philadelphia Eagles – Quarterback Carson Wentz continues to feed Jeffery and he’s in a great spot to finish with his first 1,000-yard season since 2014.

Ameer Abdullah, RB, Detroit Lions – So far this preseason he’s averaged 4.3 yards per carry (YPC) on 18 attempts and looks totally recovered from the foot injury that ended his season in 2016.

More from Fantasy Football

New England Pass-Catchers – With Julian Edelman out for the season, there are 158 targets up for grabs from a season ago. However, which pass-catcher who benefits the most remains to be seen.

Rob Kelley, RB, Washington RedskinsSamaje Perine who?

Corey Coleman, WR, Cleveland Browns – Coleman and rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer seem to have a connection and Kizer will be under center for Week 1. Kenny Britt was my early favorite to lead the Browns in targets, but that might not be the case if Kizer can hold onto the job.

Ted Ginn, WR, New Orleans Saints – It wouldn’t be a surprise to me if, at 32 years old, Ginn sets a a career high in receiving yards.

Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers – He only threw two passes in Week 3, but one of them went for a touchdown. More importantly, he looks 100 percent healthy and ready to bounce back after a down season in 2016.

Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers – He’s fully recovered from last year’s torn ACL and looks great. I told myself I wasn’t going to fall for Allen after the way he’s played me the last two seasons. But I don’t think I can stay away from his massive potential.

Kevin White and Kendall Wright, WRs, Chicago Bears – With Cameron Meredith out for the season, these two will see a big bump in targets.

DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins – Parker’s rise in the fantasy football community continues to grow and now there are rumors the Dolphins could be trading Jarvis Landry. Parker’s breakout season looks inevitable at this point.

John Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals – I talked Brown up all summer and then I recently talked him down. After catching tow touchdowns in Week 3, I’m talking him up again. Yes, I’m a flip-flopper and it won’t be the last time I pull a stunt like this. Brown reminded me and many others just how good he is when healthy.

Stock Down

Leonard Fournette, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars – Even though he’s expected to be ready for Week 1, his foot/ankle injury is concerning. Keep in mind, his foot/ankle injury sapped his effectiveness at LSU last season.

Julian Edelman, WR, New England Patriots – He’s going to miss the entire season with a torn ACL.

Cameron Meredith, WR, Chicago Bears – Speaking of torn ACL’s….

Willie Snead, WR, New Orleans Saints – Many jumped on the Snead bandwagon (including me) after Brandin Cooks was traded. However, Ted Ginn is ready to have a huge role in this offense.

Spencer Ware, RB, Kansas City Chiefs – Ware is all but certain to miss the entire season with a knee injury.

Eagles BackfieldWendell Smallwood made his preseason debut and looked good as he averaged seven yards per carry. His performance coupled with his positive practice reports makes Philly’s backfield even more complicated to figure out.

Kenny Britt, WR, Cleveland Browns – Since March, I wanted all the Britt shares possible for 2017. After watching how much DeShone Kizer prefers Corey Coleman, I’m starting to reconsider.
