The Tampa Bay Buccaneers face the Washington Redskins on Thursday August 31 in the 2017 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

In what is the final contest on the NFL preseason slate, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on the Washington Redskins. The Buccaneers will be looking to ride the momentum following a 13-9 win over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. The Redskins also got into the win column beating the Cincinnati Bengals by a 23-17 margin. In doing so, they secured their first win of the preseason.

One thing to keep an eye on for Tampa Bay is running back Jeremy McNichols. Head coach Dirk Koetter said Sunday that the rookie will get one more chance to redeem himself after a rough performance against the Browns Saturday. Although this may seem like a ho-hum storyline, you do not see coaches give player ultimatums to the media that often. Thursday is his last chance to prove he belongs a member of the Buccaneers.

For the Redskins, something to watch for is whether or not they can continue to run the ball effectively. Sunday was a glimpse into what their running backs are capable of as Robert Kelley led the way with 22 rushes for 68 yards and a touchdown. Samaje Perine also had a nice game, rushing 19 times for 65 yards.  A 19-yard scamper  was his longest of the day.

It will be interesting to see if Washington makes the running game a focal part of their gameplan. The last thing you want is any injuries in the final preseason contest, so a conservative playbook would not be surprising.
