Against Washington, Cincinnati Bengals’ punter Kevin Huber made an impressive fake on a punt that’s had people talking, but how does it compare to other great special teams fakeouts in football?

If you’ve been watching highlights from Week 3 of the NFL Preseason, you’ve seen the play by now.

It didn’t end up meaning much for Cincinnati — the end result was a turnover on downs in a preseason game — but it still stood out due to the deftness shown within the play by Huber.

It was good enough that it got me thinking beyond the singular play itself and at a broader topic: great special teams fakes.

Immediately after seeing this one, my mind was already jumping back to a few I’ve remembered seeing in recent years; not long after, some YouTube deep diving led me to other impressive feats I’m surprised I’d somehow forgotten.

To help differentiate how each of these plays stack up with each other, I’ll be giving a simple grade on a 1-10 scale with some pros & cons to help explain why.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of these exciting special teams fakeouts.
