Wide Receivers

Start of the Week: Doug Baldwin ($6,700 DK/$7,500 FD) at Green Bay

With back-to-back top 10 finishes at the wide receiver position, it’s time to stop underrating Doug Baldwin. He is the perfect guy to stack up with Russell Wilson on your DraftKings or FanDuel roster this week. Green Bay were ranked second worst in the league in 2016, giving up 42 points per game to opposing wide receivers. This game can easily turn into a shootout, which bodes well for Seattle’s top receiving target.

Value Pick of the Week: Pierre Garcon ($5,300 DK/$6,600 FD) vs. Carolina

What happened the last time Kyle Shanahan and Pierre Garcon were together? Well, Garcon led the NFL in receptions with 113. That was back in 2013, but Garcon is still just 31 years old and has a lot left in the tank. He clearly is the perfect fit for Shanahan’s complex offensive scheme and he knows it better than any other player on the 49ers roster. He should be able to rack up receptions in a game that San Francisco is expected to be playing from behind in.

The Panthers secondary is suspect, as they were 25th against the pass last season. A good matchup and game script should result in 15+ points for Garcon this week.

Deep Sleeper: Robbie Anderson ($3,800 DK/$5,200 FD) at Buffalo

As I mentioned previously in the Powell write-up, the yards have to go somewhere. The Jets easily have one of the most inexperienced and unproven receiving corps in the NFL. However, Anderson showed flashes last season and has the size and speed to be a true number one receiver. The Jets will be playing from behind, they basically have no one else to pass to, and to top it all of Anderson is an ultra cheap option at just $3,800.

Best of the Rest:

– Kelvin Benjamin ($5,900 DK/$6,500 FD)
– Larry Fitzgerald ($5,900 DK/$6,400 FD)
– Michael Crabtree ($6,000 DK/$6,900 FD)
