We are getting close to the Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears squaring off on Sunday in NFL Week 1. Take a look at both teams’ injury report.

The Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears have a great opportunity to start their 2017 seasons off right with a victory on Sunday afternoon at Solider Field. While the Falcons are the heavy favorites heading into the Windy City, Chicago won’t let the Dirty Birds off the hook without one heck of a fight.

That being said, a football team cannot be successful without their starters healthy and ready to play. Luckily for both of these franchises, neither team sustained any significant injuries throughout preseason play. Well, other than Bears’ receiver Cameron Meredith.

Take a look at the Falcons’ injury report heading into the weekend, courtesy of Kelsey Conway:

The best news I’ve seen all day is that Damontae Kazee was a full-participant at practice on Wednesday. The rookie out of San Diego State played pretty darn well in the preseason until his ankle forced him to the sideline.

It’ll be very interesting to see how much Dan Quinn decides to play him this weekend against Chicago. Not to mention, will that be at free safety or cornerback? Other than Kazee, there really isn’t any other news that should impact Atlanta’s game-plan for Sunday afternoon.

As far as the Bears’ injury report is concerned, take a look at the report from Vaughn McClure of ESPN:

Again, both of these teams are fortunate to not have sustained any major injuries during the preseason. While you may see some big names on this list such as Sam Acho, Johnathon Bullard, Prince Amukamara, Kyle Long and Pernell McPhee, I don’t believe any of them will miss the game against Atlanta.

However, something to watch for on Sunday is how well Amukamara’s ankle will hold up in coverage against the Falcons’ speedy and physical receivers. If he has to miss any amount of time on Sunday, it could cost the Bears a few touchdowns and possibly the game.
