The Oakland Raiders face off with the Tennessee Titans in Week 1 on Sunday, and here are all of the highlights from the matchup.

The Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Titans both have viable playoff hopes for the 2017 season. However, they also both enter the year in a similar situation at quarterback. Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota both broke their fibulas in Week 16 last year, effectively ending either team’s seasons in terms of being competitive. With that being said, the outlook is even better for this year.

The Raiders started off showing just how impressive they can look. With Carr coming out and leading the offense with new addition, Marshawn Lynch, in the backfield, the offense marched down the field with ease. He made his way into the red zone and the found Amari Cooper. Coop wouldn’t go down and fought his way into the end zone for six points.

However, the Titans wouldn’t be denied and answered the call right away. They were able to fight off opposing momentum and put together a drive of their own, one featuring rookie Corey Davis. That drive ended with Mariota running the zone read to perfection and rushing for a 10-yard score around the right edge.

From there, both offenses moved, but to no real consequence. The Raiders added two more field goals — one at the end of the half — and the Titans added one to give Oakland a three-point lead going into the locker room on the road.

In the second half, though, it was really just the Raiders controlling the game. The defense largely stepped up to stifle whatever the Titans tried to do. What’s more, the Raiders were able to move the ball and put points up — even if it was only field goals at times. In short, Oakland looked like a team who’d been at this level before, while the Titans looked as if they’re still finding their footing.
