Oakland Raiders: 3 Bold predictions vs Jets in Week 2
By Randy Gurzi
The Oakland Raiders look for their second win on the season in as many tries as they host the New York Jets. Here are three bold predictions for the game.
All the key figures were on display for the Oakland Raiders as they won 26-16 over the scrappy Tennessee Titans in Week 1. Quarterback Derek Carr was efficient and threw two touchdowns in his first game back after breaking his leg last year. The leader of the franchise wasn’t the only one to perform well though.
Running back Marshawn Lynch also impressed after sitting out the 2016 season following his brief retirement from the NFL. Not playing gave Beast Mode the itch to get back and he found his way to his hometown team. In his debut, he ran for 76 yards on 18 carries.
Defensively they did just enough, with second-year safety Karl Joseph leading the way with nine tackles. This week, that defense very well may do much more.

In Week 2, the Raiders face the New York Jets, a team that looked inept on Sunday. New York has rolled the dice with Josh McCown at quarterback and he threw for just 187 yards in 39 attempts with no touchdowns and two interceptions. The Jets lost to the Buffalo Bills, and never crossed the goal line while having to settle for four field goals.
Oakland is a much better team than the one that made the Jets look bad, and with New York flying across the country to play in this one, it could get ugly. Here are three bold predictions as the Raiders host the Jets.
