Oakland Raiders: 3 Bold predictions vs Jets in Week 2
By Randy Gurzi
2. Cordarrelle Patterson returns a kickoff for a touchdown
He was a former first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings, but never really developed into the kind of receiver they hoped they were getting out of Tennessee in 2013. As a rookie he started to show signs of what he could do. That year Patterson had 469 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He added another 158 yards on just 12 rushes and three more touchdowns. All of those numbers are career highs to this day for the speedy wide out.

He also had a career high in return yards as the former Volunteer went for 1,393 yards and two touchdowns. We continue the trend of it being his best year as Patterson had a 109-yard kick return as a rookie for a touchdown and has never had more than the two returns for scores.
Oakland went out and grabbed him this offseason as a guy who could change their luck in the return game. Patterson has 4,116 yards of kick returns in his career and five touchdowns. On Sunday he had 41 of those yards as he looked close to breaking one. Against the Jets, he should be able to do just that.
Patterson will spend more time as a returner than anything else for Oakland. In Week 2 he will show exactly why that’s his main job as he makes the kick return exciting once again.
