2. Chargers will hold Jay Ajayi to under 100 yards rushing

Honestly, this should never be a bold prediction, but for the 2017 Los Angeles Chargers, they have struggled mightily against the run. It’s not because of a lack of talent and it’s definitely not because of the defensive coordinator, the  Bolts just haven’t done a good job of tackling well and setting the edge.

More from Los Angeles Chargers

For example, the Denver Broncos ran for 140 total rushing yards on Monday Night Football in week one against Los Angeles. Since the Chargers couldn’t set the edge or make clean tackles, both C.J. Anderson and Jamal Charles had all kinds of room to run. You can disagree if you’d like, at the end of the day, that cost Los Angeles a victory.

That being said, the Dolphins and running back Jay Ajayi are coming out to the west coast healthy and with fresh legs. Remember, Miami had their week one game against Tampa Bay cancelled because of Hurricane Irma. If the Chargers cannot find a way to slow down Ajayi early, it could get ugly.

However, even though Ajayi rushed for 1,271 yards and eight touchdowns in 2016, the Chargers held him to under 100 yards in their matchup. Lightning never seems to strike the same place twice, but I have a feeling the Bolts will be laser-focused on keeping Ajayi under wraps on Sunday afternoon.
