The NFC West has been a division dominated in recent years by these teams, as these teams have won six of the last seven division championships. However, the San Francisco 49ers have not won the division since the 2012 season.
Seattle’s defense is expected to be one of the most complete units in the league this season. However, they allowed 370 offensive yards to the Packers in Week 1. The defense will need to perform much better this week in order to avoid starting the season 0-2 and falling to the bottom of the division.
The 49ers only scored three points against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. First-year head coach Kyle Shanahan was hired as the offensive mastermind behind the Atlanta Falcons’ record-breaking year in 2016. However, against this Seahawks defense, there is a legitimate chance that the 49ers play their first two games without scoring a touchdown.
