The Cleveland Browns faced the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Sept. 17 in NFL Week 2, and here are the highlights from the game.

For those NFL fans that are expecting the Cleveland Browns to be the joke that they have been for many years, think again. Hue Jackson’s team came out last week and gave the Steelers everything that they could handle. They took a three-point loss, but they showed a ton of promise. The hope was that they can keep that up as they travel to take on the Baltimore Ravens in NFL Week 2.

What really drove the Browns in Week 1 was their defense and the fact that rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer didn’t make too many mistakes. Against the Ravens, he made several. On the afternoon he threw three interceptions — and that was even while missing some time after he left with migraines. When he was sidelines, Kevin Hogan replaced him and scored the Browns lone touchdown of the game, but also threw an additional pick.

Meanwhile, the Ravens offense was able to move the ball effectively against a talented young Browns defense. Buck Allen and Terrance West were solid on the ground. It was Joe Flacco that was really impressive, though. He was able to make throws all day long after an early interception, especially looking for tight end Benjamin Watson, who was his favorite target on the day.

Two Flacco touchdown passes and a West rushing score were more than enough for Baltimore to pick up the strong victory and move to 2-0 on the season and in the AFC North.

What the Browns showed in their season-opener was undoubtedly impressive. Now they have the chance to impress further by submitting the same type of performance against the Ravens. If they’re able to do so on the road, that could lead to an upset victory for Cleveland.
