The Dallas Cowboys faced the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Sept.17 in NFL Week 2. Here are the highlights from the game.

It’s a battle of offense versus defense as the hight powered offensive attack of the Dallas Cowboys hits the road to play against the defensive powerhouse Denver Broncos. One team excels at running the ball, while the other is known for stuffing it. Which philosophy would play out this Sunday when America’s Team takes the field in Week 2?

This game got off to a weird start thanks to the weather at Mile High. Though the Broncos were in clear control right out of the gate as the defense was dominant and Trevor Siemian moved the ball with ease, a storm rolled in at the end of the first quarter. That began an hour-long delay on Sunday afternoon with the end of the first quarter not being played until 6:00 p.m. ET.

For the Cowboys, they had to hope that the break would kill any of Denver’s momentum. That didn’t remotely happen, however. With Von Miller getting pressure and the elite Broncos corners causing trouble for the Dallas receivers, Dak Prescott struggled. Even worse was that the Denver front seven absolutely stuffed Ezekiel Elliott, who finished with only eight yards rushing in the game.

Meanwhile, the inept Dallas defense that fans hoped was gone after Week 1 returned. They couldn’t stop C.J. Anderson in the run game and couldn’t slow down Siemian throwing the ball. With Chidobe Awuzie and Nolan Carroll both leaving the game with injuries, it was the perfect recipe for an onslaught.

That’s exactly what happened, too. The Broncos scored 21 points in each half and did so rarely breaking a sweat. That allowed them to pull well ahead on the strength of their defense and secure a dominant, impressive win.
