Oakland Raiders: 3 Takeaways from Week 2 vs. Jets
By Randy Gurzi
The Oakland Raiders went to 2-0 to start the season for the first time since 2002. Here were three takeaways from their Week 2 victory over the Jets.
It was pretty much what everyone expected in the home opener for the Oakland Raiders. They hosted the New York Jets and walked way with a 25-point win, knocking the Jets out 45-20. The win gives the Raiders a 2-0 start to the season, which is just the first time they have done so since 2002.
There was a lot to like about how the Raiders handled themselves in this one. Free agent pickup wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson showed how dangerous he can be when he ripped off a 43-yard run for a touchdown. They also saw their defense get rolling with four sacks — two of which came from defensive end Mario Edwards, Jr. and one from 2016 Defensive Rookie of the Year Khalil Mack.

Of course it was quarterback Derek Carr that led the way as usual. He threw three touchdowns with no interceptions and finished with 230 yards on 23-of-28 passing. He also stayed incredibly clean as he wasn’t sacked at all, despite the Jets having a good defensive line.
With their big win there were several things to be happy about for Oakland. Here are the three biggest takeaways from their second win.
