Fantasy Football 2017: 5 Biggest takeaways from Week 2
By Dan Thomas
The five biggest fantasy football takeaways from Week 2 of the 2017 NFL season.
And just like that, we are one game away from Week 2 of the NFL regular season being over. Even though we are only two weeks into the fantasy football season, there are plenty of things to be happy about and plenty of things to freak out about. What and who exactly am I referring to?
Here are the five biggest fantasy football takeaways from Week 2.
5. Look for Bengals Players to Bounce Back
If you’re a fantasy football owner who has players like A.J. Green, Tyler Eifert or Joe Mixon don’t panic just yet. I see these players bouncing back sooner rather than later.
After Thursday’s embarrassing lost to the Houston Texans, the Bengals needed to find a scapegoat and they did in offensive coordinator Ken Zampese. The team fired Zampese a day after the game and he was replaced by Quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor.
My guess is Lazor wants to make a good impression in his new role and how does he do that? He gets the ball to his best players early and often. Look for Green and Eifert to get a lot of opportunities moving forward. I also believe Lazor will do away with the three-man running back by committee and feature the team’s most complete running back, Joe Mixon, a little more.
Note: Tyler Eifert is now questionable to play in Week 3 (big surprise). Owners need to keep an eye on this throughout the week.
