2. Zero Running Back Strategy Working Well Early On

If you were an owner determined to avoid running backs early on in fantasy football drafts, it’s working out well for you so far. Obviously Cardinals David Johnson is out with an injury but this year’s second-favorite fantasy running back, Le’Veon Bell, isn’t doing much early on. Over his first two games he has zero touchdowns and is averaging just 10.4 PPR fantasy points per week.

Ezekiel Elilott was limited to just eight rushing yards on nine carries in Week 2 and all of a sudden there’s questions about the Cowboys offense. Is this just one bad game or is Elliott’s 3.4 yards per carry going into Week 3 something we are going to see all season?

Titans DeMarco Murray and Bears Jordan Howard both have less than 90 total yards after two games and are losing touches to their backups.

1. Injuries Continue to be a Big Story

I just referenced Jordan Howard right above so I might as well keep talking about him. Last year’s second-leading rusher was caught with a sling on after the Bears Week 2 loss to the Buccaneers. Is this a long-term concern?

Panthers tight end Greg Olsen will miss some time with a broken foot. Redskins running back Rob Kelley could miss some time with what appears to be a broken rib. Browns wide receiver Corey Coleman broke his hand for the second straight season and will miss extended time.

Other players such as Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson, Rob Gronkowski and Corey Davis all left their games early with an injury. Will these players miss time and if so, how much? Fantasy owners need to be ready hit the waiver-wire hard this week.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the best waiver wire targets going into Week 3.
