2. Was LA right to release Josh Lambo before the 2017 season?

This is definitely something that needs to be discussed heading into Week 3 of the NFL regular season. I understand that it’s only been two games and no player should ever be judged off of that limited of a performance, but rookie kicker Younghoe Koo has killed the Chargers’ chances of winning in both games.

More from Los Angeles Chargers

Koo made the team, surprisingly, over veteran Josh Lambo at the end of training camp, which now looks like somewhat of a bad move. Take a look at what CBS Sports said about the situation a few weeks ago:

"In parting ways with Lambo, the Chargers will roll with Younghoe Koo as their starting placekicker. This isn’t very surprising, as Lambo was in the bottom half of the league in conversion rate each of the past two seasons while missing four PATs in each term. Not to mention, Lambo missed all three of his attempts from beyond 50 yards in 2016."

Again, in all fairness to Koo, he hasn’t been in the league long enough for us to make a full judgment of his game. That being said, the results have been brutal so far for the kid from South Korea.

His potential game-tying kick last Monday in Denver was blocked, then he followed that up by going 1-3 against the Dolphins, pushing another potential game-winning kick just past the right upright. Needless to say, it’s only been two games, but how much longer can this unlucky franchise continue to watch Koo not come through in the clutch? Only time will tell.
